I know I have already covered many asks you can tackle as you wait for your placement, but I thought I’d create a quick post of bullet points listing those activities all under one post.
- Find a daycare in advance, maybe 2 or 3.
- Stock your pantry with kid friendly snacks.
- Save money!!!
- Setup your maternity leave at work if you’re taking one.
- Schedule any doctor appointments for yourself to get them out of the way. (i.e. dental cleanings, dermatologist appt, etc).
- Declutter and organize your home.
- Learn some kid friendly recipes.
- Read “The Connected Child” by Dr. Karyn Purvis. It’s on Amazon…It has lots of helpful tips on how to raise an adopted child.
- Get your car serviced if it needs it
- Set up the kids’ room as best you can. This is the fun part ! (Below is a Before & After paint job I did on what will be one of my kid’s dressers. I’ll post more pics in later posts!)
